Marketing

Position: Marketing Strategist
Description:
As part of the marketing team you will be in charge of our brand! We focus on outreach, generate content for all of the TEDxRutgers social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat etc.), and plan and prepare interactives for our annual conference.
Main Qualifications:
Enthusiastic to shape and promote the TEDxRutgers brand!
Nice to Haves:
Prior experience or interest in social media, caption writing, photography/ photo editing, brand-specific writing/communication skills, organization skills, prior on campus involvement, experience with tabling and/or customer service

Technology

Position: Technologist
Description:
As part of the technology team you are in charge of what our audiences see! We handle the stage production for the annual conference, work directly with speakers in helping edit their content, have final say in how the TEDx Talk videos come out, maintain the website, and work on projects to improve team efficiency and attendee experience!
Main Qualifications:
Eager to shape and promote the TEDxRutgers brand through developing our content!
Nice to Haves:
Prior experience with web design, UI/UX, front-end development and projects to showcase familiarity with design and content organization, ability to work under pressure/time constraints, communication and organizational skills.

Finance

Position: Treasurer
Description:
As treasurer, all financials decisions go through you! You’ll be mainly in charge of controlling finances for the organization as well as building connections with different groups around the Rutgers community. TEDxRutgers succeeds through its events and you’ll be a major part of how great those events will be!
Main Qualifications:
Enthusiastic to aid the Finance Strategist, with a main purpose of maintaining and enforcing the budget, organizing transactions, and serving as the point of contact for all finance related business for the Rutgers office.
Nice to Haves:
Analytical skills, budgeting experience, collaborative mindset, communication and public speaking skills.

Position: Finance Strategist
Description:
Being on the finance committee means being in charge of the money and everything runs on money! We work on strategies to increase our funding, and keeping a mean budget. Most importantly, you’ll be playing a vital role in finding ways to help TEDxRutgers continue to grow.
Main Qualifications:
Enthusiastic to grow the organization’s budget and resources through sponsorships and strategic partnerships, while working with the Treasurer on maintaing the budget.
Nice to Haves:
Analytical skills, budgeting experience, collaborative mindset, communication and public speaking skills.

Logistics

Position: Logistics Strategist
Description:
As a part of the logistics team, you will be able to work on every single aspect of the conference in regards to efficiency! This entails creating a detailed schedule for speakers, organizing the flow for all of our events, deciding on caterers, and ordering TEDxRutgers materials (stickers, swag, etc). You will also get the amazing opportunity to recruit and work with our conference volunteers!
Main Qualifications:
Enthusiastic to help coordinate the main events of the organization and the annual conference through strategic planning and logistics coordination.
Nice to Haves:
Organization, communication, collaborative mindset, teamwork, planning experience, timeliness

Design

Position: Visual Designer
Description: You’ll create expressive and communicative graphics and print materials for our events and outreach--posters, program booklets, social media graphics, and whatever else you can imagine! Most importantly, you’ll play a big part in shaping TEDxRutgers’ visual identity!
Main Qualifications:
Enthusiastic about creating expressive and effective graphics and print materials for TEDxRutgers’ events.

Position: Event Experience Coordinator
Description:
You’ll work with the team to organize and oversee the spaces and experience of our events, such as the annual TEDxRutgers conference and other smaller ones. How will attendees be directed as they arrive?
How will the venue be organized and decorated? These are some of the questions that you'll answer by working with the team to gather ideas and turning them into detailed and delightful plans. TEDxRutgers is ultimately about its events, and you’ll play a major part in figuring out making those experiences enjoyable and enlightening.
Nice-To-Haves: If you have some creative or curatorial work, we’d love to see it! They can be anything from drawings to DIY projects to a cool pinterest board.

Speaker Team

Position: Speaker Curator
Description:
You will be working directly with speakers in preparing them for their talks at the annual conference! Your job will consist of working on a team in determining potential speakers, reaching out and inviting them to speak at our conference, and continuously working and meeting with confirmed speakers throughout the months leading up to the event. You'll discuss with the speakers their potential talk ideas, giving constructive criticism and guiding them through the speaker on-boarding process. You'll be able to craft the speakers' experiences to help make TEDxRutgers just as memorable for them as it is for us and our audience!
Main Qualifications:
Passionate about choosing potential speakers with "ideas worth sharing" in the spirit of TED from a variety of different areas, very good communication skills, and professional email-writing abilities.
Nice to Haves:
Open-minded, public speaking skills, collaborative mindset, timeliness, knowledge of different TED speakers and potential TEDxRutgers speakers.
